Configuring Synx Dynamics Connector

After the Synx licence has been activated you will need to configure the Dynamics connector to sync with your Dynamics instance. To configure the connector:

  1. Login to the administration area of your Sitefinity CMS.
  2. Navigate to 'Administration > Synx'.
  3. Click on the "Actions" menu on the Dynamics connector.
  4. Click on "Connection Settings" in the dropdown menu.

A screen will now be displayed to enter your MS Dynamics connection settings. 

Configuring Dynamics Online 365

  1. On the "Edit connection settings" screen select "Online (365)"
  2. Click "Next"
  3. Enter in the following settings:
    • ServerUrl:
      • This is the Url to connect to your Dynamics instance. 
    • UserName:
      • This is a username of an admin user account to connect to the Dynamics instance with. 
    • Password:
      • The password for the admin user account to connect to the Dynamics instance with.
  4. Click "Test connection" (*You may need to click the button twice).
  5. Synx will now automatically connect to your Dynamics instance. In the event it cannot connect, you may need to supply the Organization service URL. If Synx requires this a screen will be display for you to enter these details.
  6. Click "Save and Schedule Sync" to schedule your first Sync

Configuring Dynamics On Premise

  1. On the "Edit connection settings" screen select "On Premise"
  2. Click "Next"
  3. Enter in the following settings:
    • Enter Server Url
      • This is the Url to connect to your Dynamics instance. The Url should exclude the organization name. 
      • Examples are the IP address of the server or the full web address 
    • Use https?
      • If your Dynamics instance is accessed via HTTPS then tick the checkbox. If it is not accessed via HTTPS then leave the checkbox unticked
    • Domain
      • If your Dynamics instance using active directory for user login, enter the domain here. If no domain is used this field can be left blank.
      • Example: If your login username is CompanyX/Username then CompanyX will be the domain.
    • Port Number:
      • If your Dynamics instance is accessed via a port number, this is the value to enter into this field. If no port is used this field can be left blank.
      • UserName:
        • This is a username of an admin user account to connect to the Dynamics instance with.  
      • Password:
        • The password for the admin user account to connect to the Dynamics instance with.
    • Click "Test connection"
    • Synx will now automatically connect to your Dynamics instance. In the event it cannot connect, you may need to supply the Organization service URL. If Synx requires this a screen will be display for you to enter these details.
    • Click "Save and Schedule Sync" to schedule your first Sync

    The Synx Dynamics connector is now configured
